'Dictatorial atmosphere': Cardi B criticizes Trump's decision to mobilize police in Los Angeles

The American rapper, however, feels incapable of reasoning with the White House tenant.
Los Angeles has been the scene of clashes since Friday, June 6, when protesters took to the streets to denounce raids by the federal immigration enforcement agency (ICE) against undocumented immigrants. Donald Trump has deployed nearly 2,000 National Guard officers to restore security and has imposed a curfew in the city center. Many stars are openly outraged, while others are more measured, such as rapper Cardi B.
" The reason I haven't really spoken out about it is because I could bother talking about it every day and guess what? Nothing will change, " she wrote in a now-deleted tweet that was spotted by the English-speaking press, including Billboard . The " I Like It" singer decided to respond to some comments pointing to her silence regarding the situation in Los Angeles. Cardi B justifies her silence in part because of her detestable relationship with Donald Trump. " I think he doesn't like me very much ," says the rapper, who supported Kamala Harris during the US presidential election in November.
The singer also believes that the President of the United States " doesn't give a damn about her or what she might say ." " In fact, I feel like if I spoke out every day about what's happening in Los Angeles, he would take great pleasure in deporting even more immigrants to remind us that he's the one running the country ," she adds.
Cardi B goes on to compare Trump's tenure to a " dictatorial atmosphere ." She recalls that she " tried to warn you about what was going to happen with Trump's return to power ," adding that she no longer knows anyone in the White House who " could fix the situation ."
Unlike Cardi B, several celebrities have spoken out openly on the issue, starting with Eva Longoria. " It's so inhumane and hard to watch. I can't imagine what it's like from inside Los Angeles," the actress, who lives in Spain, said in a video shared on Instagram. "When we see innocent, hard-working people being taken from their families in inhumane ways, we have to speak out," Kim Kardashian responded.
