Soccer player Teófilo Gutiérrez was honored by the Barranquilla City Council with the Order of San Nicolás. The recognition, which was bestowed on him last Thursday, May 8, reflects not only his successful career in sports but also his role as an example of self-improvement.

"I want to thank Councilman Alexis Castillo, who came from a very poor neighborhood, just like El Bosque, and I did from La Chinita. I'm grateful to him and his team, because they've truly promoted sports for young people," were some of the words he expressed to express his joy at this tribute.
In addition to receiving this award, Gutiérrez drew attention for some of the statements he made during the event, particularly with a comment about his future aspirations.
