Real Madrid's 3-2 victory over Borussia Dortmund and PSG's 2-0 victory over Bayern Munich on Saturday provide a clash between the two most recent Champions League winners, a reunion for Kylian Mbappé with his former team, and a reunion for Real Madrid with Luis Enrique Martínez.

PSG's Spanish coach will be without two starting defenders in the semifinals: Ecuadorian Willian Pacho, who was sent off with a straight red card in the 81st minute for a harsh tackle on Leon Goretzka, and Frenchman Lucas Hernández, who was sent off in stoppage time for elbowing an opponent.

Xabi Alonso, meanwhile, lost Dean Huijsen, who was also sent off with a direct red card in the 96th minute of the quarter-finals after committing a penalty.

Real Madrid and PSG have faced each other twelve times, in a head-to-head relationship that began in March 1993, with a record of five wins for the Spanish team, four for the French team, and three draws.

The first semi-final of the Club World Cup will be played on Tuesday in New York, with Brazil's Fluminense and England's Chelsea the first two teams vying for a place in the final, which will be played on Sunday, July 13 at MetLife Stadium in New York.
