The National Institute for Food and Drug Surveillance (Invima) has again issued an alert to all Colombian residents due to the sale of two dietary products that do not have a health registration and are therefore prohibited from sale. What were the details of this decision?
In a statement available on its website, the health authority emphasized that the SUGAR CONTROL and META FIT diet pills are not authorized for sale nationwide and therefore their sale is completely illegal. In the same vein, Invima explained the health risks that may arise for those who consume them, such as:

1- Increased circulation, anxiety, nervousness and tremors. 2- Sleep disorders and fatigue. 3- Damage to some organs of the body. 4- Fluid retention. In the communication, the institution reminds that these types of fraudulent products do not provide safety measures and are not effective, which can generate risk for those individuals who consume them.

The Ministry of Health clarified on its website that this product is intended to increase or supplement a person's daily diet. It is composed of various nutrients but not substances with therapeutic or pharmacological action.
