The government sets up a camp in Tapachula to care for Mexicans deported from the US.

TUXTLA GUTIÉRREZ, Chis. (apro).- The Mexican government has opened a temporary care camp in the city of Tapachula to receive and provide assistance to Mexicans deported from the United States who are being repatriated by air.
The complex, which was opened in the Olympic Stadium parking lot, is part of the "Mexico embraces you" strategy, designed to offer a dignified and humanitarian welcome to returning Mexicans, a source said.
He said the opening of this center in Tapachula is in response to the increase in deportation flights arriving in that city in southern Mexico.
On Thursday the 7th, two flights arrived: the first with 98 Mexicans deported from Louisiana, and 118 deportees from San Diego, California, who were taken to the shelter. More flights are expected this Friday.
The camp, which has a capacity for approximately 600 people, has dormitories, dining rooms, showers, and bathrooms to accommodate those repatriated by air. There, Mexicans will be able to rest for a few days before continuing their journey to their home states.
In addition, offices were set up with officials from agencies at all three levels of government coordinated by the Ministry of the Interior. These include the National Migration Institute, which issues repatriation letters; the Ministry of National Defense and the Navy are responsible for security, logistical support, and the mobile kitchen.
The Ministry of Welfare ensures the inclusion of deportees in government social programs, such as the pension for senior citizens, "Sembrando Vida," and others; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Mexican Social Security Institute ensure that returnees are enrolled in health services; and the National Employment Service facilitates job placement for returning Mexicans.
As well as the National Population Registry, which supports the issuance of identity documents such as the CURP (National Identity Document) and birth certificates.
Authorities did not specify the duration of the camp, but indicated that the "Mexico Embraces You" plan will be extended to other border states in the country, and those with high migrant populations such as Chiapas, Oaxaca, Michoacán, and Guerrero, to ensure a proper reception for all returning Mexicans.
Tapachula Airport is one of five airports in Mexico designated to receive deportation flights of Mexicans from the United States.
