Indra plans to launch its Mini4EO Earth observation platform into space in 2026.

Indra, a technology company, is expected to launch its Mini4EO satellite into space in 2026. This high-performance Earth observation platform is designed to meet the "most demanding" security and defense needs, according to sources at the technology company.

This satellite platform will be equipped to carry various surveillance sensors to strengthen border protection, detect illicit activities, and support strategic operations or operations carried out in remote areas.

Mini4EO is designed to effectively respond to current and future operational demands in the field of Defense , they explained.

A model of this satellite will be on display starting Monday at the Paris Air Swow air show , which will be held from June 16 to 22, where the Spanish technology company Indra will be present.

The Mini4EO is a key part of the new subsidiary Indra Space , with which the company aims to become one of the major players in the sector and one of the few companies on the continent with the capacity to cover the entire space value chain, from satellite manufacturing and management from the ground to the provision of surveillance services or ultra-secure communications with its own satellites.

This satellite, which has a payload capacity of up to 50 kilograms , integrates high-precision optical and multispectral instruments, giving it a high degree of accuracy in targeting objectives.

Relevance in the aerospace sector

This project is part of Indra's commitment to gaining prominence in Europe's aerospace sector, alongside projects in space surveillance, secure communications, and protected navigation.

Indra aims to present itself at this Paris fair as a unique company in Europe, thanks to its ability to protect the aerospace domain and space assets of its countries through a broad combination of systems and technologies, such as satellite constellations, telescopes, radars, as well as anti-drone systems and advanced command and control centers.

In the coming days, Indra plans to unleash its potential in an immersive room that can be visited in the static exhibition area of this show.

There, you'll be able to experience "with complete realism" how to operate some of the world's most advanced command and control systems developed by Indra.

With a presence in more than 140 countries and revenues of €4.843 billion in 2024, Indra aims to strengthen its position as a global leader in air traffic defense, space, and digital transformation. The International Air and Space Show, held every two years , takes place in Paris-Le Bourget.

Over the years, visitors have been able to discover the Airbus A300 B, the Ariane rocket, the Mirage 2000, the Airbus A380, and the first solar-powered aircraft, Solar Impulse. The fair also features numerous activities and flight demonstrations.
