Goodbye to cables: China unveils a revolutionary all-in-one that will change connections forever.

In a world where machines and devices are becoming increasingly important, connections are becoming increasingly important, and even though everything is becoming increasingly wireless, at the end of the day, connections are still physical at times. For example, headphones are now cordless and work via Bluetooth, but charging them still requires a cable.

And while this is a great move and news for everyone, China has opted to change the market and recently introduced GPMI (General Purpose Media Interface), a new wired connectivity standard that aims to revolutionize the way we interact with our electronic devices.

Backed by a coalition of more than 50 Chinese technology giants , including Huawei, Hisense, and TCL, the GPMI aims to dramatically simplify connections in the home and professional environments by unifying the transmission of audio, video, data, and power into a single cable.

Until now, the complexity of multimedia systems has required a tangle of cables for different purposes: HDMI for video, USB for data and charging, DisplayPort for monitors, and separate power cables. GPMI was born with the promise of putting an end to this chaos, offering an all-in-one solution with capabilities that surpass current standards.

According to reports, there will be two variants of this cable: the GPMI Type-C , which is compatible with the existing USB-C connector, and the GPMI Type-B, which is physically larger and offers higher capacities.
