ESEIT School launched its new Data Engineering and Artificial Intelligence program.

The Higher School of Business, Engineering and Technology (ESEIT) launched its new professional program in Data Engineering and Artificial Intelligence, which seeks to respond to the growing demand for specialized talent in artificial intelligence, big data, and technological development.
ESEIT, a member of the international network Planeta Formación y Universidades, announced that the program will be offered 100% online.

The educational institution argued that according to a recent ICT sector report, Colombia was the fifth country in the world with the fastest growth in generative artificial intelligence learning in 2024, with an increase of more than 400% in interest in this field. This trend demonstrates the country's potential to become a technological hub in the region.
50,000 professionals were required However, ESEIT explained that by 2024, it was estimated that Colombia needed at least 50,000 professionals with proficiency in tools in areas such as Big Data, artificial intelligence, and data architecture, but the talent supply failed to meet this demand, and more than 14,000 vacancies in technology areas remained unfilled, reflecting a critical gap that impacts the country's competitiveness and innovation capacity.

ESEIT explained that in light of this situation, the Data Engineering and Artificial Intelligence program responds to a critical need in the productive sector: to have digital leaders capable of developing technological solutions, analyzing large volumes of data, and leading digital transformation processes that integrate science, engineering, and innovation.
"We are committed to closing the country's digital divide through accessible, 100% virtual academic programs focused on technology, engineering, and innovation. We train competent leaders who combine knowledge and digital skills to drive the transformation of sectors such as healthcare, education, energy, logistics, and agribusiness ," explained Luis Alejandro Cortés Cely, Academic Director of ESEIT.

Cortés added: "Our mission is to connect students with the real challenges of the productive environment, offering a flexible and relevant education that facilitates the connection of future professionals from all regions of the country with the most impactful sectors, preparing them to face the challenges of the global context."
With this commitment to digital training, ESEIT seeks to contribute to the development of a more competitive technological ecosystem for the country. Registration for the program is now open, and classes will begin in June 2025.
