However, those weren't the only new features. For an hour and a half, the company founded by Steve Jobs presented the new features for all its devices that will come with the updated operating systems for each product.

Much of what was presented had already been leaked weeks earlier, and the surprises weren't so great when it came to how the predictions were being fulfilled. Despite this, there were many new features, and one of the expected confirmations was the unification of names for all its operating systems, which are now aligned with the year. Why 26 if they're coming to users this year? Because the number corresponds to the year in which they'll be fully deployed and all the features will be fully rolled out.

The event was again a pre-recorded video , although developers , journalists, content creators and influencers are invited to the Apple campus to be part of the event.

Every year, the videos lean toward humor while promoting a new product, and this year the parody was Formula 1 because Apple is producing a movie on the subject that will be released soon, starring Brad Pitt .

Among the many new features, the first introduced by Apple was Liquid Glass , a visual style inspired by its Vision Pro headset, which replaces menus from iPhone to Mac with transparency, rounded corners and effects that simulate polished glass.

The lock screen, Camera, Safari, and Messages all get floating buttons, soft tabs, and dynamic backgrounds.

It's the biggest change since iOS 7 and paves the way for a more immersive augmented reality interface.

Apple is bolstering its AI with new tools that operate on the device and in the private cloud to protect privacy.

Visual Intelligence, which is already in operation, will receive an update that will allow it to identify objects on screen or in photos with a simple gesture, generating useful actions: product search, creating events or queries to Siri and ChatGPT.

For example, they showed how someone on the team took a screenshot of a jacket, and the system offered options for where to buy it. Something similar happened with a flyer that was added to the agenda, as it asked if they wanted to add it to their calendar.

Craig Federighi, Apple's Senior Vice President of Software Engineering , couldn't avoid the controversy that arose in recent months when many promises made about Apple Intelligence a year ago were not fulfilled and a scandal broke out.

The executive addressed the delay in the Siri update and explained the reasons behind the rollout delay. "This work needed more time to reach our high quality standards, and we look forward to sharing more about it over the next year," he stated.

Simple tasks are handled on the device; more complex tasks, such as writing emails or generating images, are delegated to ChatGPT.

This approach offers the best of both worlds: the familiarity of Siri plus the creative and analytical power of ChatGPT, without the need to log in.

Many of the additional features Apple introduced are similar to those Google showcased at its event a month ago, especially those focused on simultaneous and real-time translation. Others are similar to those introduced with UI7, Samsung 's customization layer within the Android mobile operating system.

• Live Translation : Messages, calls, and FaceTime are translated in real time, even if the other person isn't using an iPhone; all on the device.

• Call Screening and Hold Assist : The phone can answer and transcribe incoming calls manually, leaving you with peace of mind while it automatically answers.

• Messages : Custom backgrounds, polls, and improved group chat organization.

• Games App : A one-stop shop for all your games, Apple Arcade, and social challenges.

Public betas will be released in July 2025, and official versions will be available in September of this year, always one week after the launch of the new iPhone models.
