This is the $1.5 million Rolex Federer wore at the Laver Cup, which left Alcaraz speechless.

Carlos Alcaraz was unable to win the Laver Cup held this weekend in San Francisco. The tournament, founded by Roger Federer , pitted two teams against each other, one from Europe and the rest of the world. As part of the competition, Alcaraz, world number 1, in addition to showing off his new blond hair , was able to see firsthand the Swiss' exclusive new watch, which just a few months ago joined the club of billionaire athletes . Both are Rolex ambassadors, but Federer chose an exclusive model that the Murcian wanted to see in detail. The cameras captured the curious moment in which the Swiss took off his watch to show it to the Spaniard.
Although Alcaraz is also accustomed to wearing a Rolex, Federer's new piece is quite special. It's the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Ref. 126599TSA 'Blue Sapphire'. The brand presented new references in its Daytona collection at the Watches & Wonders 2025 trade fair, and among them were three out-of-print references (i.e., not sold through official channels; in fact, no references are listed on the Rolex website). One of them is the watch the Swiss man wore at the Laver Cup.
This is a design crafted in 18-karat white gold , with a 40 mm case adorned with 36 baguette-cut blue sapphires and 54 brilliant-cut diamonds . The dial is made of silver obsidian. The hour markers are set with more blue sapphires. Inside the watch ticks the Rolex caliber 4131 automatic movement with a 72-hour power reserve, and it also features a white gold Oyster bracelet.
According to several specialized websites, the watch in question is valued at $1.5 million (approximately €1.3 million at current exchange rates ). It represents an impressive fusion of fine watchmaking and jewelry, transforming the Swiss brand's iconic chronograph into a true designer piece.
For his part, Alcaraz also chose another Rolex Daytona, but a more modest one. The Spaniard wore the Daytona 'Tiffany' Ref. 126518LN, made of yellow gold with an Oysterflex bracelet, distinguished by its vibrant turquoise dial . It's the same one he wore to win his second Roland Garros .
This is also one of the Swiss brand's new releases for 2025, although much more discreet. This model launched at around €35,000, but its current value is around €100,000-€150,000.
