Pope Leo XIV cries out for the youth of Gaza and Ukraine before more than a million faithful at the Jubilee of Rome.

At the end of the Jubilee of Youth, which brought together more than a million people in Rome, Pope Leo XIV expressed his solidarity this Sunday with young people suffering from war around the world.
"We stand with the young people of Gaza and with the young people of Ukraine! With all those countries bloodied by war," he proclaimed before the Angelus prayer from the stage of the Tor Vergata esplanade, on the outskirts of Rome, before more than a million people.
The pontiff argued that the broad participation in this youth event demonstrates that "another world is possible."
"In communion with Christ and in our hope for peace in the world, we are closer than ever to the young people who suffer the most serious evils caused by other human beings," the Pope said, drawing applause from the crowd.

Leo XIV addressed young people, saying that they are "proof that a different world, one of fraternity and friendship, is possible."
A world, he said, "in which conflicts are not resolved with weapons and dialogue."
The pontiff, who had not alluded to these conflicts throughout this intense weekend, concluded a Jubilee of Youth that brought together more than a million people from around the world in Tor Vergata, according to local authorities.
On Saturday afternoon, the Pope led a prayer vigil during which he answered three questions from young people. This Sunday, he concluded the event with a mass attended by many people.
Leo XIV bid farewell to the attendees, inviting them to participate in the next World Youth Day, in Seoul from August 3 to 8, 2027.
