Irving Alberti joins the Dominican Republic's Got Talent jury.

Irving Alberti joins the Dominican Republic's Got Talent jury.

Dominicana's Got Talent , the show that captivated Dominican audiences and brought thousands of families together in front of their televisions, is back. The highly anticipated third season promises even more excitement, talent, and surprises. And one of those surprises is the addition of beloved actor and comedian Irving Alberti , who takes on the role of judge for the first time.

Just a few weeks before the auditions begin, we spoke with Alberti about this new challenge in his career , his admiration for the program, and what he expects from this experience .

How did you receive the news that you would be a judge on Dominican Republic's Got Talent ?

Happy. So happy. Ever since that show aired, on the first day I was like, "Why aren't I on it?" It's one of those things that, from the moment you see it, you know you want to be a part of it. For many reasons: the quality of the project, the production, the people involved, and, above all, the brotherhood you feel. I thrive on working in environments like that.

Ever since I saw Tuto Guerrero 's (producer) number, and I already knew they were announcing the casting calls , I knew it was coming. I said, "Hey, don't even think about it. Just tell me when I have to do my makeup and what time I have to be there." That call made my day.

Do you think that Dominican's Got Talent has managed to unite the Dominican television family ?

Of course. It's been a long time since we've had a phenomenal project that everyone wants to see. Since it came out, it's broken the mold and exceeded expectations .

Yes. From the very beginning, I stuck with my favorites . I really enjoyed the winners . There was a big one who looked like Michel (Evaristo Marte), and he was one of my favorites . I always followed them.

What do you think of Dominican talent ?

The Dominican Republic is a cradle of talent . This project shows the country how much good we have. From the singer to the acrobat. Seeing that gives people hope, and pride, too.

I believe there are gifts you're born with , of course. But I also believe that God is very forgiving: if He sees you have a passion for something, with practice you can achieve it. Even if you don't have a miraculous voice or extraordinary abilities, perseverance and love for what you do can take you far.

What will Irving Alberti be like as a judge?

That's what worries me most (laughs). Human stories touch me deeply, and I know I'm going to have difficult moments. It's hard for me to tell someone "you're not up to this." But now I'm committed to credibility . Even if I embellish it, I'm going to have to say what I think.

I've always prioritized the positive over the negative. Sometimes you have 200 good comments and one negative one, and it keeps you up at night. Not me. I delete it, block it, and continue with the good ones. And it'll be the same here. I'm going to focus on what nourishes me, what gives me energy.

Have you already met the production team and judges ?

Yes, and I'm happy. I want to get started now. It's a life experience to be with people I admire professionally and who I consider friends. That guarantees me that it's going to be an incredible process . As for the judges, everyone is returning except for Raymond Pozo. I'm taking his place. Next up are Pamela Sued, Nashla Bogaert, and Waddys Jáquez. And the new hosts ... they're two people I adore and who have amazing chemistry.

What do you expect to see this season?
  • If it's like what I've already seen, I'm satisfied . I don't have high expectations . What I've seen has been very satisfying .
How important is this platform for new talent?

A lot. Here, the whole country sees you from day one. In a normal career , you grow little by little. Here, with one performance, you can already have exposure, followers, contracts , opportunities. And you don't have to win for that to happen. Some talents only need to be seen once.

Would you have liked to have this platform when you started?

Of course. But I'm also grateful for the path I took. It taught me how to navigate, how to understand the environment, how to avoid danger. When you climb without a guide, your ego can betray you.

You forget about God, about the people who helped you. And that's very dangerous . I hope those who participate seek advice or guidance. Many of us are willing to help.

Do you think participants need to be emotionally prepared ?

Absolutely. Because they go from anonymity to fame in a matter of days. It happened to Babyrotty, for example. Within two days, everyone was talking about him. That can be overwhelming, and they need psychological support and counseling to handle it.

Finally, what do you say to the audience waiting for the new season ?

Don't miss it . This season is going to be very special. The hosts are spectacular, the atmosphere is brotherly, and there's a lot of talent, more than you'd imagine. Dominican Republic's Got Talent will continue to showcase all the great things this country has to offer.

About the program

Dominican Republic's Got Talent returns with its third season, led by executive producers Nashla Bogaert, David Maler, Gilberto Morillo, and Tuto Guerrero. Broadcast on Color Visión, this season will feature the largest prize of any reality show in the Dominican Republic, at 3,000,000 pesos. For Irving, talent is not only a matter of natural talent, but also the passion and effort behind each performance. His goal is to support participants with constructive criticism without discouraging them, understanding that for many, the stage is more than an artistic space: it's a way to overcome difficulties and express themselves.
