Invima issues health alert for illegal sale of children's products in the country: 'Unauthorized'; this is what you should know.

In a bulletin issued on June 27, 2025, the National Institute for Food and Drug Surveillance (Invima) informed the community about the illegal marketing of the product Vitacerebrina Kids.
According to the official website of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, through community reports and complaints filed with the government agency, it was determined that the product is being distributed without the proper health registration.
The National Institute for Food and Drug Surveillance (Invima) warned that this food, intended for children and promoted with supposed benefits for the brain, bones, and immune system, violates current health regulations.

Furthermore, he noted that its commercialization poses a risk to public health, as there is "no" legal or technical evidence supporting its safety and efficacy. It lacks the required approval from the competent authorities.
The product violates "the health regulations of Articles 272 and 274 of Law 9 of 1979, by unjustifiably declaring its health, preventative, and therapeutic properties."
Authorities urge citizens to refrain from purchasing or consuming this product and to report any point of sale.

According to the information on the nutritional label, the product is used as a medication to improve brain function and cognitive performance. It represents a function aimed at supplementing children's immune systems.
However, according to the National Institute for Food and Drug Surveillance (Invima), the therapeutic benefits claimed by this product have not been certified. Therefore, it should not be in circulation or available for sale to the public.
According to a report from (Invima) , the product contains 500 ml of net content, and is manufactured and imported by Laboratorios NF Natural Farma from the city of Cali, Colombia.

According to Article 272, it is prohibited to include claims about medicinal, preventative, curative, or nutritional properties that are not true on labels, packaging, or any type of advertising for food or beverages.
Likewise, Article 274 establishes that all food and beverages must comply with all legal and regulatory requirements applicable to medicines, as provided by law.
