In Piñor, a small town in northern Spain with just over a thousand inhabitants and known for being home to numerous coffin factories, residents are experiencing days of shock.
The reason: Julio Iglesias, one of the most internationally recognized singers, bought an impressive mansion located in the area.

The house, which once belonged to a former mayor and had been closed for some time, was purchased by the artist two months ago, according to sources close to the building.
The 1,340-square-meter property features an artificial lake, extensive gardens, a swimming pool, an indoor elevator, and a garage with space for 20 vehicles.

Since the sale was finalized, it's common to see a constant flow of vehicles and workers engaged in maintenance and cleaning tasks. Workers in particular are focused on keeping the perimeter wall surrounding the mansion spotless.

The news is a topic of conversation among the town's residents, who comment with amazement and excitement on the artist's arrival. "We're going to have a celebrity! Incredible," said one woman, a self-confessed admirer of the "Life Goes On" singer.
Manuel Bernárdez, who previously worked at the mansion, also expressed his surprise: "I never would have imagined that such a famous person would come and buy a house here."
The acquisition, far from going unnoticed, has become the main topic in the streets and squares of Piñor, where daily life has been disrupted by this unexpected news.

Beyond the purchase itself, Julio Iglesias's relationship with Galicia is not new. His father, Julio Iglesias Puga, was born in Ourense in 1916 and was a prominent gynecologist, a pioneer in painless childbirth techniques. In 1981, he was kidnapped by the ETA organization and released weeks later by the police.
Julio Iglesias, born in Madrid in 1943, has repeatedly expressed his affection for Galicia, a land he has visited at various stages of his life and to which he even dedicated the song 'Un canto a Galicia'.
With this new acquisition, the singer adds another property to his already extensive list of residences around the world, which includes homes in Miami, the Bahamas, the Dominican Republic, and other parts of Spain.
