The magic behind the show: Andrés Rivera and the art of visual production

Behind every musical show or concert, there's a preparation that ranges from the technical to the creative; and that's what Andrés Rivera can talk about, as he undoubtedly masters both of these terms.
With 15 years of experience, Andrés has been immersed in the world of concert production with immersive audiovisual experiences that create an emotional connection between the audience and the artists.
“We started cloudbusters when I was 20. We started very slowly while we learned; it was a slow process,” says Andrés, referring to the family business that began to gain exposure at various events.
Within the art of lighting and visual shows, lasers took center stage when the family acquired their first one in 2018, and with this, they began to make a presence in techno venues in Bogotá and other countries.
“We were the first company to have powerful lasers,” Andrés says.
Although this was a family business, the young man emphasizes that his love of electronic music led him to want to make this something bigger . "I liked the synchronicity that had to go with the music and with whoever was operating things so that the show had meaning."
Andrés has worked with artists such as Karol G, Eladio Carrión, Feid, J Balvin, Blessd, Ryan Castro, Tiësto, Rüfüs Du Sol, this has allowed him to impose his own style within this scene, for example, when the artists do not have their show prepared “you can express yourself however you want, we must have the agility and speed to follow the singer and be an extension of what he is transmitting. You must be in sync.”
On the other hand, Andrés emphasizes the importance of the visual aspect of a show: "I'm a lighting person, but you have to accept it. If the sound goes out at a concert, everything stops. But if the lights go out, you can continue, in theory. But then, coordinated with the audio, the visual experience is very important so that people enjoy it, feel it more, and amplify it."
Although most of his dreams have been reflected in each of the productions he has undertaken, Andrés is clear about his goals within the industry. He not only seeks to put on world-class shows, but also to create a complete experience that connects with the audience and leaves an emotional mark.
“Today, shows aren't just about music, they're about complete experiences, and lasers have the ability to envelop the audience, tell visual stories , and take concerts to a much more immersive and memorable level,” he emphasizes.
