The Azcuy Prize application period has been extended: when is the new deadline for submitting projects?

The Azcuy Foundation has extended its open call to visual artists from across the country to participate in the Azcuy Prize, which, in its seventh edition, has already garnered more than 500 entries. The deadline for submissions will run through September 29th .
In less than a decade, the Azcuy Prize has become a classic for artists and a key platform for bringing contemporary art to new audiences. The winning project will receive $10,000 , cover its realization costs, and will be located in one of the buildings the construction company is developing in the Caballito neighborhood.
The call is aimed at Argentine artists, individual or collective, as well as foreigners with a minimum of three years' residence in the country.
Diego Bianchi, Adriana Bustos, Nacha Canvas, Fabián Bercic, Hernán Soriano, and Benjamín Felice received awards in previous editions. Except for Felice's project, which is currently in production, the rest of the works are already part of the Donna de Azcuy building series.
Work by Diego Bianchi located in one of the buildings in Azcuy.
The competition is sponsored by the Buenos Aires Museum of Modern Art. As in each edition, the proposal consists of developing a unique work of art that will be installed in one of the Azcuy buildings. In addition to the winning prize , the finalists will receive $1,500.
As a new development, the seventh edition of the Azcuy Prize expanded its territorial reach through collaborations with museums in different regions of the country, with the aim of bringing the call to local scenes and strengthening ties with the artistic community. Within this framework, representatives from Azcuy and the Museo Moderno held meetings in various cities with artists who participated in different editions of the prize.
Nacha Canvas's work wins the fifth Azcuy Award.
Open talks were held at the Lola Mora Museum of Fine Arts in Salta , with the participation of Guido Yannitto (jury member 2025); at the Museum of the National University of Tucumán, with Benjamín Felice (winner 2024) and Carlota Beltramé (jury member 2022); and at the Castagnino+Macro Museum in Rosario , with Mariana de Matteis (finalist 2020) and Claudia del Río (jury member 2021).
At the close of the call for entries, a jury of experts composed of artists, curators, and representatives from the Museo Moderno and Azcuy will select five or more finalists, each of whom will receive a $1,500 incentive prize to further develop their proposals, which they will then present to the jury. A single winner will be selected from this presentation and announced in November.
The initiative aims to promote the presence of the visual arts in our city's urban and residential development by exploring the intersection of art and architecture.
This year the jury will be composed of Gerardo Azcuy (Founder and General Director, AZCUY), Guadalupe Chirotarrab (Curator, Buenos Aires), Raúl Flores (Curator, Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires), Sol Juárez (Creative Director, AZCUY), Malgorzata Ludwisiak (International Curator, Gdansk), Julián Terán (Artist, Buenos Aires) and Guido Yannitto (Artist, Salta).
Imaginal World, by Adriana Bustos, was also one of the winning entries in the past.

Once the call for entries is closed, a jury composed of artists, curators, and representatives from both the Museo Moderno and Azcuy will select five finalists. Each will receive a $1,500 incentive prize to further research and develop their proposals, which will be further evaluated by the jury after a final presentation.
At this stage, the winning entry will be selected and announced in November. The winner will receive a prize of $10,000 plus the production costs of their entry.
