Marbella awaits Morante, Ortega, and Aguado with a 'sold-out' ticket at the box office.

The Marbella Bullring will be packed to a capacity crowd this Friday (10:00 p.m.) during the 'Corrida de los Candiles' (Bullfight of the Candiles), in which bullfighters Morante de la Puebla, Juan Ortega, and Pablo Aguado will kill Garcigrande bulls.
The Marbella bullring's ticket office displays a "Sold Out" sign, confirming the fans' full support for the City Council and the Arenal Marbella Toros company's commitment to bringing the festival back to the town. Proof of this is the impressive Seville lineup scheduled for this year, which has not gone unnoticed by fans from all over Spain who have reserved the date to be in the town on the Costa del Sol tonight, despite the fact that the event will be broadcast live on Canal Sur Televisión .
The 'Corrida de los Candiles' is a revived festival that unites nighttime, candlelight, flamenco, and bullfighting in a tribute to the importance of the bullfighter in the town, where seven bullfights were once held each year. Over time, and with a lack of municipal interest, the August bullfight became more of a tourist attraction than a bullfighting event, until politicians imposed an anti-bullfighting ban on the municipality, closing the bullring inaugurated in 1964. In 2024, in collaboration with the City Council and the bullfighting industry—represented by figures such as Raúl Gracia, Miguel Báez, and Fermín Bohórquez —this event was revived in the Andalusian bullfighting calendar, also transforming it into a top-level event.
The stakes have gone up a notch this year, as Arenal Marbella Toros has scheduled another top-level event for June 14th, featuring Manzanares, Talavante, and Fortes on a successful afternoon in which the three bullfighters were carried out on shoulders and three bulls from El Freixo were pardoned.
The 9,500 seats in the bullring will be filled with candles to celebrate another year that Marbella can enjoy a night of bullfighting .
It will also be a prelude to the scheduled bullfight for the three bullfighters at the Plaza del Puerto de Santa María this weekend. This Saturday, and with another "Sold Out" ticket at the box office, Morante will perform alongside Roca Rey—to refute the Peruvian bullfighter's alleged veto of the bullfighter from Puebla, as Roca did in a recent interview on ABC —and the young Daniel Crespo, a finalist in the Chenel Cup, with bulls from Núñez del Cuvillo. Ortega and Aguado will compete in a duel on Sunday at the Puerto de San Lorenzo bullring with cattle from Puerto de San Lorenzo and La Ventana del Puerto.
