Kendrick Lamar and SZA revolutionize Barcelona with a show of balanced contrasts.

Kendrick Lamar and SZA's 'Grand National Tour' , already considered the most important joint Rap and R&B tour in recent years, landed - and swept - the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium in Barcelona with a show meticulously curated.
For nearly three hours, the two artists made the audience jump, scream, and vibrate throughout the 52-song playlist that covered their greatest hits.
Kendrick Lamar, one of the most influential voices in current rap, has a body of work marked by narrative and social commentary. After the surprise release of "GNX" in 2024 and his acclaimed halftime performance at the 2025 Super Bowl , he headlines the "Grand National Tour" alongside SZA.
SZA also arrives at one of her finest moments as a key figure in contemporary R&B. After sweeping the charts with "SOS" in 2022, this year she released "SOS Deluxe: LANA," an expanded and more introspective version of the original album, with an aesthetic heavily focused on the natural, the organic, and the cycles of life.
The atmosphere was already charged from outside, in the long and hot line you could already see flat caps from the Los Angeles Dodgers - like the one Kendrick is wearing -, baggy shorts or American football t-shirts - in reference to SZA -, in other words, a concentration of "hipsters" in all its glory.
Inside the venue, at 7:15 p.m., producer Mustard began to heat up the atmosphere with his DJ set. People trickled in, filling the spaces on the dance floor and in the stands, all to the rhythm of songs like "Parking Lot," "I Don't F**ck With You," "EVIL JORDAN," "Just Wanna Rock," "CARNIVAL," and "FE!N."
These songs, of course, kicked off the pogos, although somewhat timidly for the moment, as they had to save their energy for Kendrick. Mustard offered a warm-up that already gave clues as to how the night was going to unfold, and it looked very promising.
When Kendrick took the stage, the stadium ignited, not only from the pyrotechnics but from the emotion with which he was greeted, and the audience responded with genuine euphoria. Hands in the air to the beat of the music, screams chanting along to the lyrics, and human circles that opened up to break into the rhythm of the song and jump toward the center—this time uncontrollably—all amidst a lot of sweat. The intensity was palpable and constant.
However, with SZA, the atmosphere shifted to something much softer and more emotional. The lights became dimmer, people sang instead of shouting, and many took the opportunity to record without the risk of their phones flying away. The Saint Louis artist mesmerized the audience every time she took the stage.
Throughout the concert, the artists shared several performances in which their voices intertwined perfectly, but it was "All The Stars" that stood out above the rest. Kendrick's energy and SZA's warmth, atop parallel platforms that gradually rose, united the audience in a single moment.
Overall, it was a perfect balance: two forms of emotion that kept the audience oscillating between agitation and contemplation.
