Accessibility remains one of the festival's pillars, with an inclusive approach that expands access to culture through free events at universities, workshops in prisons, and live online broadcasts. This commitment to digitalization will allow the festival to reach global audiences, ensuring its presence beyond geographical borders.
The festival will take place in the historic city of Segovia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site , an unparalleled setting that not only offers its rich history, from the imposing Roman aqueduct to the majestic Alcázar , but also the opportunity to enjoy one of the most anticipated events on the international cultural scene.
Julie Finch , CEO of Hay Festival Global, highlighted the importance of this event in times of global uncertainty. “This year's program aims to address shared challenges with determination and hope, celebrating new ideas and the power of storytelling to improve our lives. The events in Segovia are open to all, with widespread outreach and participation in libraries , universities, and prisons,” Finch commented.
