Guaymallén, a key player in the creation of the first Mining and Energy Cluster in Cuyo

The department is consolidating itself as an industrial and service hub, contributing its productive and technological base to a historic alliance between the State, academia and the private sector.
Within the framework of the Argentina Mining 2025 international fair , the commitment was signed for the creation of the first Mining and Energy Cluster of Mendoza (CMEM) , a strategic alliance that redefines the relationship between mining, energy and territorial development.
The agreement was signed by Governor Alfredo Cornejo , the mayor of Guaymallén, Marcos Calvente , the vice-rector of UNCuyo, Gabriel Fidel , and the president of ASINMET, Fabián Solís , along with representatives of more than 30 companies that provide industrial and energy services.
This is an unprecedented regional milestone , positioning Mendoza as the first province in Cuyo to implement a scheme of planning, cooperation and participatory governance between the State, academia and the private sector.
Guaymallén's prominence within the CMEM is explained by its strategic role in the province's productive structure. The department concentrates the largest number of metalworking and industrial services companies , considered the backbone of the mining and energy value chain .
“The greatest benefit for Guaymallén lies not in the royalties, but in the economic and employment benefits that mining can generate. This cluster allows us to organize that productive force and prepare ourselves to respond with efficiency and quality,” highlighted Mayor Marcos Calvente .
The mayor also emphasized:
“Guaymallén provides the productive base on which this Cluster is based. Here are the companies, workshops and knowledge that make reliable, efficient and sustainable mining and energy possible.”
A Cluster with a vision for the futureThe main objectives of the Mendoza Mining and Energy Cluster are:
Strengthening the competitiveness of supplier SMEs by promoting certification processes, innovation and compliance with international standards.
To generate quality employment and territorial added value , promoting the internationalization of local companies.
Substitute imports and expand markets , increasing the share of Mendoza's production.
Integrate sustainability as a guiding principle, balancing the social, environmental and economic dimensions.
Promote the development of human capital , in conjunction with the National University of Cuyo and specialized research centers.
Among the companies participating in CMEM are Buccolini, Solís, Red Córdoba, Surtécnica, Tassaroli, Acsa, IMPSA, Prear, Temis, Peuenche, Maqoil, Geotub, Protools Solutions, Grupo Ceta , among others, representing the productive and technological strength of the Mendoza industrial sector .
A regional milestoneWith this alliance, Mendoza takes a key step towards a more diversified and sustainable economy , based on public-private cooperation.
Guaymallén reaffirms its leadership as an industrial and service hub, contributing its operational, technological and human capacity to the development of a modern, responsible and socially legitimate mining model.
