Burgerville, the burger festival, is coming to Medellín: when will it take place?

In the mid-19th century, the hamburger was more than just a delicious dish; it was a simple way of eating. In Hamburg (Germany), sailors used to eat minced meat fillets between two slices of bread to make it easier to eat. Since then, the recipe has become more complex over time, with each country having its own versions, sometimes adding jams, vegetables, fruits and different flavours that make this dish a favourite for many.
Centuries later, the Burgerville gastronomic festival, an ode to the hamburger and its history, will bring together the best preparations in Medellín for the first time in 2025. The event will take place at the Juan Pablo II Aeroparque, from Saturday, March 22, to Monday, March 24.
This city was selected because it has established itself as a benchmark in innovation, culture and gastronomy, with a vibrant identity that makes it the ideal setting for this new stage.
On the other hand, this festival will bring together the 'tresos' in hamburgers in Bogotá, from Friday 7 to Sunday 9 March at the Parque el Museo El Chicó.
In a pet-friendly and family-friendly space, the version that will be held in the 'City of Eternal Spring' promises to boost the growth of the local culinary scene.
Although the star of the event continues to be the hamburger, the organizers, Beats, have expanded the options for the capital of Paisa. They will include proposals such as Naan, which has Indian food, but which must create its own recipe exclusively for this festival, just like the other restaurants.
Those in charge of narrating what happens in Burgerville and the process of creating 21 unique hamburgers that will be offered in this space are the influencers Isa Londo, Gabo Cocina, together with Sabor en la Mesa.
Some of the restaurants you will find in Medellín are: All Day Café x Juan Burger, Andes Burger, Barrio Burger, Bramante, Chef Burger, Chum Burgers, Classic Diner, General Café, Home Burgers, Naan, Office Burger, OG Burger.
For the festival that will take place in Bogotá: Cabrera Resto Bar, Gauchos, Los Valientes, Min Burger and Sir Frank.
Alejandro Escallón, co-founder of The Gula Group and founder of B.eats, commented: “Every year we seek to change and have new things. Compared to Medellín, we arrived with many expectations, we know that it is an industry that has been developing positively , a city with a clear concept and a very interesting and demanding offer. The reception by the restaurants has been excellent.”
