A priest baptized a Labubu, and the video sparked criticism on social media.

A few days ago, a young woman shared a video on social media showing the exact moment a priest agreed to baptize her Labubu doll at a local Catholic church.
In the video, a woman can be seen holding the small toy near a font of holy water, while the priest took a little of the liquid with his hands to bless the object.

A few seconds later, the priest placed one of his hands on the doll and said, "I bless it in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen." He then applied a sacred substance.
In the clip, the priest can also be heard explaining that, as part of the religious ritual, it is necessary to pour a little more holy water on the toy's head to complete the prayer.
"Naming my Labubu so I don't have nightmares while I sleep," the user wrote on her Instagram account. However, the scene, which spread across digital platforms, quickly generated a stir among the community.
Although many internet users described the priest's actions as a serious lack of respect for the Catholic Church and its representative ceremonies, others considered it a way to integrate young people into certain celebrations.

The opinion of users who spread the video on platforms such as X, Instagram and TikTok was divided between those who rejected the religious man's actions and those who saw the video as an innocent joke.
“Proof that in our time even imaginary demons can be sanctified,” one netizen commented on social media, referring to the priest’s ability to make absurd things seem normal.

Others, on the other hand, pointed out that the Labubu's baptism was simply a misinterpretation by devotees who do not consider the requests of others important, no matter how unusual they may seem.
While the post continues to generate buzz on digital platforms, the details and the reason that motivated the priest to perform the sacrament with the doll are still unknown.
