'Uber bus' causes a sensation in Brazil: this is how it works

You have probably heard that reality is stranger than fiction, and this is what some citizens in Brazil are experiencing with the arrival of a new public transport system, where speed and comfort are essential.
Uber has launched the Uber Shuttle service in Brazil, a charter bus that aims to connect Guarulhos with some commercial areas of São Paulo and promises to offer cheaper and more convenient trips.
This new service promises to change the dynamics of transport between large cities, but in Brazil it has generated controversy and questions about its regulation.

This transport arrived on January 8, 2025 and is inspired by an initiative created in Egypt in 2019, which is now present in more than 30 countries. Its main objective is to compete with public sector companies in that country.
Uber Shuttle currently offers five fixed routes between neighborhoods in Guarulhos and São Paulo, with prices varying between 30 and 40 reais per trip, approximately between 21,000 and 28,000 Colombian pesos.
How does Uber Shuttle work? This service runs from 4:30 am to 9:00 pm, with departures every 20 minutes, depending on passenger demand. These buses have a capacity for 49 passengers and allow users to follow the route in real time through the app.
One thing that users should keep in mind is that these prices may vary depending on the route and how many people have booked. In addition, users can check the exact price of each trip.
This 'Uber bus' has some main features that have caught the attention of many passengers, as it offers comfort when making trips.
To use this transport, users only have to reserve and pay for a seat, then they will receive a QR code or pin that works with five operating routes.
Uber Bus wants to combine the platform's technology with public transport prices. The company is also considering bringing this new modality to other countries, such as Paraguay and Uruguay.
