The best campsites in the Netherlands: The new ADAC Super Sites 2025
Attention camping fans: Every year, ADAC inspectors travel across Europe in search of the best campsites, the so-called "ADAC Super Sites." In 2025, twelve new campsites joined the exclusive circle, inFrance , Italy , and Croatia —as well as three in the Netherlands .
We reveal the criteria used to select the top three campsites in the Netherlands for 2025 – and which other “super sites” already exist in this popular holiday destination.
Whether a campsite is designated an "ADAC Super Site" depends on clearly defined criteria. These include the quality and number of sanitary facilities, the amenities and maintenance of the site, shopping opportunities, restaurants, and recreational and swimming facilities.
To ensure that the award continues to set standards in the future, the ADAC regularly reviews its evaluation guidelines and adapts them to current developments in camping tourism. Only those who excel in all areas receive the coveted award.
If you're planning a camping holiday in the Netherlands in 2025, the three new "ADAC Super Sites" deserve your special attention. According to the ADAC, they offer "everything a camper's heart desires." These top three campsites in the Netherlands are primarily family-friendly, but also offer plenty of variety for adults.
Siblu Camping Meerwijck is beautifully situated on the Zuidlaardermeer, a lake southeast of Groningen . It's considered particularly family-friendly, but is also ideal for beach vacationers—especially if you're looking for a relaxing waterside retreat away from the crowded North Sea beaches in summer. The lake's swimming area is also ideal for small children thanks to its shallow access, and there's a paddling pool next to it.
In addition to its lakeside location, the site boasts its own beach club and indoor pool. You can rent bicycles or e-bikes, use a multi-purpose sports field or the golf course ten kilometers away, or participate in the diverse on-site sports program. There are special activities and a playground for children.
There are pitches for caravans and motorhomes, and a modern marina makes the site an attractive destination for anyone who enjoys sailing (boats are available for rental).
The second of the new ADAC super sites in the Netherlands is located on the beautiful holiday island of Texel: Vakantiepark De Krim is a five-star campsite that leaves little to be desired, especially if you are traveling with children or appreciate an active leisure program.
The heart of the site is the huge swimming pool complex with a heated indoor pool, outdoor pool, wild water ride, water slides, and an imaginatively designed water spray park. Adults can enjoy the whirlpool or the beauty department. The campsite's beach access is just 2.5 kilometers away.
A highlight for children up to twelve years old, in addition to the swimming pool area, is the large, winding indoor playhouse. There are also additional playgrounds and children's entertainment. The grounds also feature a high ropes course with climbing courses for every level.
If you want to get active on Texel, the campsite offers e-bike and bicycle rental, a fitness room, a multi-purpose sports field, the opportunity to play golf and mini-golf, and a great sports program.
Another Dutch super campsite is located in the province of Overijssel, about 50 kilometers northwest of Enschede: Vakantiepark De Luttenberg is located on the edge of the Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park. Its setting, nestled between forests and hills, is particularly idyllic. This five-star campsite is ideal for those seeking to combine nature, comfort, and family-friendliness.
On site, a heated outdoor pool and an indoor pool provide refreshment and variety, with a waterslide and paddling pool for children of all ages. Adult campers, meanwhile, will especially enjoy the whirlpool, sauna, and steam room.
In addition to water fun, children can also enjoy activities, a playground, dedicated restrooms, and a mini-golf course. A well-signposted network of cycling and hiking trails begins right outside the door. Those without their own bike can rent bicycles or e-bikes. This superb location also offers a sports program, as well as a tennis court or indoor tennis court, and a golf course ten kilometers away.
