Lilium: New investor expresses interest – and wants to “revive” the flying taxi startup

In February of this year, the flying taxi startup Lilium had to file for bankruptcy again. Now, a new investor has expressed interest.

In February of this year, the flying taxi manufacturer Lilium was forced to file for bankruptcy , following initial preliminary insolvency proceedings that ran from October to December of last year. The reason for the renewed bankruptcy filing was the failure to receive the promised €150 million from major investor DTM. The startup was unable to pay its employees, so they were laid off and laid off.
Now a new investor has announced its interest in purchasing Lilium: the Ambitious Air Mobility Group (AAMG)
“The group is now preparing to revive the company, using its capital of over 250 million euros for this purpose,” AAMG said in a press release.

The company is interested in acquiring Lilium's intellectual property, assets, and testing facilities.
AAMG also intends to create jobs and retain or hire its "key technical and certification teams." The Ambitious Air Mobility Group also plans to "continue the development and certification of the aircraft platform" and "activate a European supply chain to support the program."
The Ambitious Air Mobility Group is a joint venture consisting of:
- LuxAviation : a private aircraft operator from Luxembourg,
- Sigma Air Mobility : a subsidiary of Luxavation, focused on electric and sustainable mobility solutions of the future
- and the Ambitious Group : an international recruitment consultancy headquartered in Amsterdam, specialising in the placement of specialists and managers in areas such as IT, engineering, finance, science, sales and marketing.
AAMG has been working closely with Lilium since 2023 and originally ordered 16 Lilium jets. Little else is known about the group: CEO and Senior Partner of the Ambitious Air Mobility Group (AAMG) and CEO of the Ambitious Group is Robert Kamp.
AAMG is also registered in the Dutch commercial register; its address refers to a villa in the Netherlands. The AAMG website lists locations in Dubai and Marbella.
