Something seems to have changed recently. My friends who used to wear baggy jeans and Sambas are now opting for white or cream-colored ruffled skirts. While it feels like white ruffled miniskirts appeared out of nowhere this summer, they've actually been a long time coming. Chloé, for example, presented a boho-inspired floral lace version in its Spring/Summer 2025 collection, while Miu Miu already showed the ruffled miniskirt paired with a polo shirt and blazer in its Spring/Summer 2024 collection.

While it became a popular fashion item last summer , the skirt's presence has grown significantly this summer. From Sydney Sweeney walking through New York in a ruffled mini last month, to Amelia Gray strolling through Chelsea in a white ruffled skirt in May, to all the variations spotted at Glastonbury Festival last week, the white ruffled skirt seems to be the quintessential summer essential.
