Taylor Swift announces her new album – on her boyfriend’s podcast
Taylor Swift is back, live from... Travis Kelce's podcast studio in Kansas City.
It's true: On Monday night, it was announced that Taylor Swift would soon be a guest on "New Heights," the show hosted by her boyfriend, football player Travis Kelce , along with his brother Jason. A clip shared on Swift and "New Heights'" social media subsequently showed Taylor Swift with both Kelces, who brought a special surprise: their upcoming album, titled "The Life of a Showgirl." Although both the cover art and the official release date are still under wraps, the album is already available for pre-order.

The news, in typical Swift fashion, was preceded by some big hints: First, there was a post from Taylor Nation, the official Instagram account of Swift's management team, featuringa 12-image carousel of the singer in orange ensembles. The caption? “Thinking about when she said 'See you next era...'”
Next, the New Heights Instagram account announced a special episode with a "VERY" special guest—a capitalization lifted directly from the caption. (In the comments on that post, fans quickly became pretty sure who that guest would be.) Then came the video, which announced, "We are about to make a f***ing podcast!" The album title reveal followed on August 12 at 12:12 PM ET.
What's the story behind "The Life of a Showgirl"? And what's all that orange all about? Only time—and the Kelce brothers' podcast —will tell. It airs Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. local time.
