Shop till you drop: The luxury emporium KaDeWe opens its doors on Sunday

KaDeWe opens its doors for early Christmas shopping this coming Sunday. Why not get rid of the shopping stress in November?

It's the same every year: In November, the first thoughts of Christmas shopping start to creep in. You firmly resolve to get an earlier start this year, and then, whoosh, it's mid-December and you're shoving your way through crowded shopping streets at the last minute with everyone else – and promising to do better next year.

A particularly short pre-Christmas period

Is it possible to buy Christmas presents too early? Hardly. This year, the pre-Christmas period in December is particularly short. The first Sunday of Advent falls on the last weekend of November. For this reason, the luxury department store KaDeWe is already offering the perfect opportunity for those who decide at the last minute: Sunday, November 9th, will be designated "Open Sunday".

From 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. this weekend, shoppers can pass the time at the already open Christmas market, have lunch in the "Sixth" or be tempted by the patisserie – and easily get all their Christmas presents at once.

Shopping on a day off, even though it's not an official Sunday shopping day – how is that possible? Special opening hours for specific occasions make it happen. This weekend, Berliners, Brandenburgers, and anyone visiting the capital can explore the more than 60,000 square meters of this luxury emporium. The finest items in fashion, accessories, beauty, design, and home decor are waiting to be discovered and browsed.

The gourmet food hall on the sixth floor is also open to guests. Whether you're craving truffle pasta, trendy burgers , Swiss cheese fondue, or a classic seafood platter with champagne at the oyster bar, there's something for everyone. By the way, Germans spend an average of €263 on Christmas gifts – whether that's enough at KaDeWe is debatable.

KaDeWe. Tauentzienstraße 21–24, 10789 Berlin. Sunday, November 9, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Further information on the official website .
