Roland Kaiser: Touching insight into his life as a grandfather

The front row of a concert is usually filled with special people for an artist. Die-hard fans who have been by the musician's side for years, professional colleagues, close friends, or family. At a performance by Roland Kaiser (73) in Oberhausen, his grandchildren took seats in front of and behind the stage.

In the Rudolf Weber Arena, the pop singer entertained his fans for more than three hours with cult songs like "Dich zu lieben" (To Love You) and "Ich glaub, es geht schon wieder los" (I Think It's Starting Again). On Instagram, he reminisced about the special evening of his "Arena Tour" with private snapshots presumably taken before the sold-out concert. The photos, which he shared on hisInstagram account , feature his grandson and granddaughter.

On the one hand, the musician leads the little boy through the rooms behind the concert stage. Another photo shows the two children with large headphones on, working on the sound controls in front of the stage and sitting on folding chairs during rehearsals before the concert. "Visiting Grandpa in Oberhausen," Kaiser proudly captions the photos.

The musician usually keeps such personal photos from his family life out of the public eye. In a recent interview with the news agency spot on news, Roland Kaiser described touring and live music as the "crowning glory of my profession." Did he therefore want to show his grandchildren the magic of a live performance? Especially since touring is a kind of family business for Kaiser. "In the internal team, I travel with my wife, who also ensures that I can concentrate on the work on stage," he reveals. In addition to his wife, Silvia Kaiser, his daughter Annalena Keiler is usually also there. She coordinates her father's social media activities.
