Financial tips: This is how you can easily save more than 430 euros every month

Financial tips: This is how you can easily save more than 430 euros every month

Who hasn't felt like money is slipping through their fingers? We'll tell you why that's the case and how you can easily save.

For many working people, it's a must: a morning coffee to go. Whether you're traveling by train or car , you'll always pass at least one coffee shop or bakery, filled with wonderful aromas. The temptation is great. But those who reach for this popular hot beverage every workday spend a whopping €48 per month (assuming each cup costs €2.40). The cost-effective alternative: Bring your own coffee from home in a thermos.

Savings: approximately 48 euros

Savings #2: Beauty treatments

Women enjoy being pampered at a beauty salon every now and then. That's just how it is. And admittedly, facial treatments, such as treating blackheads and pimples, should definitely be left to a professional. But there are also treatments we could easily do ourselves. We're talking about manicures, pedicures, eyebrow plucking, and tinting.

Even those who assume they're relatively price-conscious about these treatments are spending more than they thought. If you go for a standard manicure with polish once a month, you'll pay an average of €30. A pedicure including nail polish costs another €30, and eyebrows (plucking and tinting) add another €20. That's a total of €80 per month. Our tip for all women: Schedule a beauty day in your own bathroom. With the necessary peace and quiet and a bit of time, we can easily manage all of these beauty treatments ourselves.

Savings: approximately 80 euros

Saving #3: Gym

There are people who sign up for a gym membership with great motivation (usually in January) and then end up as inactive members. After all, in winter, you'd much rather snuggle up on the sofa under a blanket, and in summer, swimming pools and bike rides are simply more appealing than stuffy gyms. Nevertheless, people keep their memberships because, theoretically, they COULD want to go again sometime. But in most cases, they don't. So our tip: We can save the money and go for a jog outside in the summer instead.

Saving #4: The wardrobe

Usually, people only spend money on the contents of their wardrobe. And it's not always sensible: Every woman has bad purchases in her closet. Excuses like "I just need to lose two kilos and then it'll fit again" or "I just need the right opportunity to get this great piece." If you're realistic and realize you won't wear it anymore, you should get rid of it as soon as possible – and cash in on eBay, girls' flea markets, Kleiderkreisel, and the like. This way, you can make some extra cash for your next shopping trip.

Saving #5: Eating out

It's just so much more convenient to go out to eat and be waited on after a busy day than to cook something yourself. But doing that twice a week can put a pretty big dent in your wallet. Let's say you eat out twice a week for €12 and treat yourself to a cocktail for €8. That's a week with a total of €40. Unfortunately, there are only four weeks in a month. With the hefty sum of €160, cooking at home suddenly becomes interesting again.

Savings: approximately 160 euros

Saving #6: Water

If you buy water on the go, you often have to pay two euros per plastic bottle. Even though you can drink perfectly good tap water in Germany.
