Is Eurovision more of a goal or a stepping stone for you?
Abor: Neither. Eurovision is a paving stone on our path through life.
Tynna: A very big one, of course. But life goes on after that.
Abor: It was never a goal for us; it just happened. Whether it's a stepping stone remains to be seen.
Will you be relieved once the grand finale is behind you?
Abor: We might think so now, but it's also possible that something will be missing afterward. Because suddenly there's not as much going on. You get used to it.
Tynna: After the preliminary round, I was lying in bed and had a moment of realization when I thought: Our lives are actually changing from one second to the next. It's very exhausting, but at the same time, this was our dream. As Abor says: It's possible that something will be missing after the Eurovision Song Contest.
Abor: My guess is that what makes you truly happy is the journey to your goal. That's why I think I'll look back and miss this time later. But don't think that we're just there for the journey and don't put in any effort. We're very competitive, and of course, we want to achieve a good placing.
Tynna: That would be the dream. And we're doing everything we can to achieve a good placement. If it doesn't work out, the world won't end; we'll just focus on the fact that we were even able to have this experience.
What is it like for you to go through this as siblings?
Tynna: I see it as an advantage that we know each other so well. We know how to communicate when things aren't going well, and we know what the other person needs in that moment. And I also think it's great that my brother is there. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have dared to do it alone. Many acts are on stage alone. And even if we're not glued to each other the whole time, it's just nice to know he's there too.
Why Abor & Tynna didn't compete at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2020Back in 2020, some people thought you should be pre-selected for Austria—you didn't feel ready. Why are you now?
Abor: We were never officially asked; we only had contact with someone who was in charge of scouting. Many people think we were asked and declined. At the time, we didn't feel ready because we were simply still at the very beginning of our project and had never performed live.
