In "Tatort: Solange du atmest," Via Jikeli takes on the central role of stalking victim Rani Ewers. Where do we already know her face from?

Bremen's latest "Tatort: Solange du atmest" focuses on a desperate single mother. Rani Ewers is a victim on several levels in this psychological thriller: Detectives Liv Moormann (Jasna Fritzi Bauer, 36) and Linda Selb (Luise Wolfram, 37) are investigating the murder of Marek Kolschak (Jonathan Berlin, 31), who had previously stalked his ex-partner Ewers. Ewers found refuge with a woman who, however, only superficially means well – and who, at the end of the film, even attempts to kill her. A dramatic fate for a troubled mother who already has a difficult life.

Rani Ewers is played convincingly, relatably, and emotionally by the renowned theater and film actress Via Jikeli (28), who was born in Aachen and celebrates her debut in a Sunday evening crime thriller with this role. The actress, who grew up in Cologne and Berlin, is a household name, especially among theater audiences in the capital: Jikeli has been performing at the Maxim Gorki Theater there since 2023 and is now also a permanent member of the Berliner Ensemble.

Known from "Deadlines" and "Boom"

Jikeli made her first major TV appearance in 2023 in the German Netflix miniseries "Schlafende Hunde" alongside Peri Baumeister, Max Riemelt, and Luise von Finckh. Jikeli also appeared in the science fiction dramedy series "Boom" on Das Erste (based on the story of the girl group Tic Tac Toe) and in the Saarländischer Rundfunk production "Everyone is f*cking crazy." Most recently, the young actress also took on a recurring role in the third season of the popular ZDF series "Deadlines."

Surprisingly, Jikeli hasn't appeared in any major film or cinema productions yet. However, with her convincing performance as Rani Ewers, this will likely become unnecessary in the coming weeks and months.
